Two women named Mary -- both recently sexually assaulted by the same man -- meet at the police station and enter into the world that victims of assault have to endure, guided by a police constable and his colleague. As the action unfolds, it is commented on by the Furies -- a chorus of murdered women seen and heard only by the viewer. Flashes of wit and humour temper a dark and difficult subject.

Lottery! is an American drama series that premiered on ABC on September 9, 1983. The series aired for one season of 17 episodes and starred Ben Murphy as Patrick Sean Flaherty, and Marshall Colt as Eric Rush. Lottery! centered around ordinary people who have won the lottery--all of a sudden becoming millionaires--and how it changes their lives.

Mumbai-based book-keeper, Rohit Awasthi, reflects on life, and his attraction to two women. The first is a model, Simran Kapoor, and the other is his neighbor, Soha. While watching a DVD of Simran, he gets to view a message that he will win Rs.3 Lakhs if a woman, Priti Agarwal, gives birth to a daughter. The woman does so, and he gets a box full of cash. He then gets another message that if he warns a gangster, Raja Thakur, that the police are going to arrest him, he will get Rs.7 Lakhs. With the help of his friend, Kabir, he assists Raja elude the police, and gets the amount in cash. The third time he is offered Rs.1 Crore if an ailing wealthy male, Rustamji Batliwala, passes away before midnight - if not - then Rohit will not only lose this sum but also all previous winnings. He must now consider killing in order to not only win the new prize but also get to keep the first two winnings.

Frankie, a young jockey with a new style of riding that brings him acclaim, is barred from the track when he starts betting on himself. Since he's been donating his winnings to an old flame and her father to help them raise a colt, the forced retirement is quite a blow.

Maryland Calvert lives in that section of Maryland divided against itself in the question of secession. Her brother, Floyd, is so strong a Northern sympathizer that he joins the Federal secret service unknown to his family and enlists in the Southern army to increase his efficiency. Her fiancé, Alan Kendrick, takes a commission in the Federal Army, although his father becomes a general in the Confederate forces. One Thorpe, a discredited Union officer, is given an opportunity to serve the Federal secret service and in that capacity, joins the Confederate army, becoming an aide to General Kendrick, whose headquarters are at the Calvert mansion. Alan Kendrick is among the Northern prisoners taken by the Confederates and when sent for exchange is recognized by Thorpe, whose bitter hatred has been aroused by the part the gallant Unionist had in his former discovery and degradation for conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.
